The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 1.4¢ to 188.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 23 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.3¢ to 186.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.3¢ to 189.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 208.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (190.4¢), Queensland (189.9¢), NSW/ACT (187.8¢), Victoria (187.3¢), Western Australia (185.4¢), and South Australia (184.9¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 181.9¢ a litre, followed by Perth (182.3¢), Sydney (184.8¢), Melbourne (185.8¢), Darwin (186¢), Hobart (189.6¢), Brisbane (190.7¢), and Canberra (195.3¢).
