The average price of diesel fuel in Australia declined by 1.2¢ to 149.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending June 16, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 1.4¢ to 148.3¢ a litre, while the regional price fell by 1.1¢ to 150.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 163.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (160¢), WA (151¢), SA (149.5¢), NSW/ACT (149.1¢), Queensland (148.6¢) and Victoria (147.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 145.4¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (146.1¢), Melbourne (147.3¢), Darwin (148¢), Brisbane (149¢), Perth (149.2¢), Canberra, (152.9¢) and Hobart (160¢).
