The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 1.6¢ 194.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 2 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.7¢ to 192.7¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.5¢ to 196.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 214.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (200.8¢), Queensland (197¢), Victoria (194.8¢), NSW/ACT (194.2¢), South Australia (191.9¢), and Western Australia (190.5¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 186.3¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (188¢), Sydney (190.6¢), Darwin (190.9¢), Melbourne (194.1¢), Brisbane (196.2¢), Hobart (200.1¢), and Canberra (204.9¢).
