Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia remained at 190.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 2 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.2¢ to 189¢ a litre, while the regional price remained at 191.6¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 209¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (193.1¢), Queensland (191.1¢), Victoria (190.9¢), NSW/ACT (190.4¢), South Australia (188¢), and Western Australia (187.3¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 183¢ a litre, followed by Perth (184.1¢), Darwin (186.8¢), Sydney (188.2¢), Melbourne (189.6¢), Brisbane (191.9¢), Hobart (192.9¢), and Canberra (196.6¢).
