Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 0.2¢ 192.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 2 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.1¢ to 191.1¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.3¢ to 193.5¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 211.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (195.5¢), Victoria (193.2¢), NSW/ACT (193¢), Queensland (191.8¢), South Australia (191.3¢), and Western Australia (189¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 186.4¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (187.3¢), Darwin (190.8¢), Sydney (191.2¢), Brisbane (192.2¢), Melbourne (192.2¢), Hobart (196¢), and Canberra (199¢).
