The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose by 0.2¢ to 143.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending February 17, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 0.1¢ to 142.2¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 0.2¢ to 144¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 157.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (154.5¢), WA (144.7¢), NSW/ACT (143.5¢), Queensland (142¢), SA (141.4¢) and Victoria (140.9¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 137¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (139.5¢), Sydney (140.3¢), Perth (141.4¢), Melbourne (142.3¢), Brisbane (142.5¢), Canberra (151.2¢) and Hobart (156.1¢).
