The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose by 0.9¢ to 142.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending January 27, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 1.3¢ to 140.8¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 0.6¢ to 143.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 157.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (154.6¢), WA (143.6¢), NSW/ACT (142.7¢), Queensland (140.9¢), SA (140.1¢) and Victoria (140¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 134.6¢ a litre, followed by Perth (139.6¢), Darwin (138.9¢), Sydney (138.9¢), Melbourne (141.1¢), Brisbane (141.2¢), Canberra (151.2¢) and Hobart (155.6¢).
