The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose 1.4¢ to 154.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending June 3, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.4¢ to 154.6¢ a litre, with the regional price up 1.4¢ to 153.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the NT at 163.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (158.5¢), WA (156.4¢), Queensland (153.8¢), Victoria (153.6¢), NSW/ACT (153¢) and SA (152.1¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 151.5¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (152.8¢), Adelaide (153.5¢), Melbourne (154.6¢), Brisbane (155.3¢), Canberra (156¢), Perth (156.3¢) and Hobart (158.8¢).
