The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 1¢ 190.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 18 August, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.2¢ to 188.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1¢ to 191.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 210.5¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (191.5¢), Victoria (190.9¢), NSW/ACT (190.5¢), Tasmania (190.3¢), South Australia (186.8¢), and Western Australia (185.7¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 182.2¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (184¢), Darwin (186¢), Sydney (187.4¢), Hobart (189.3¢), Melbourne (190.3¢), Brisbane (191.7¢), and Canberra (200.9¢).
