The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose 0.7¢ to 137.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 13 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 0.6¢ to 136.2¢ a litre, with the regional price rising by 0.8¢ to 138.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 154.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (144.6¢), NSW/ACT (137.8¢), South Australia (137.7¢), Queensland (137.2¢), Victoria (136.3¢), and Western Australia (135.8¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 133.0¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (134.2¢), Melbourne (135.6¢), Sydney (136.0¢), Brisbane (137.7¢), Darwin (140.9¢), Canberra (141.0¢) and Hobart (145.2¢).
