The average price of diesel fuel in Australia fell by 4¢ to 155.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending December 2, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 4.5¢ to 155.2¢ a litre, with the regional price also fell by 3.6¢ to 155.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 173.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (166.7¢), WA (159.9¢), NSW/ACT (155.9¢), Victoria (153.6¢), SA (153.1¢) and Queensland (152.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 149.4¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (152¢), Brisbane (153.2¢), Melbourne (154.9¢), Perth (158.9¢), Darwin (160.3¢), Canberra (162.7¢) and Hobart (167.3¢).
