The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose slightly by 0.4¢ to 152.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending September 2, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 0.5¢ to 152.8¢ a litre, with the regional price also rising slightly by 0.2¢ to 152.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 166.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (161.1¢), WA (154.6¢), NSW/ACT (152.2¢), Queensland (151.4¢), Victoria (151.1¢) and SA (150.6¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 144.3¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (150.4¢), Brisbane (152.5¢), Melbourne (153.1¢), Perth (153.9¢), Darwin (154.9¢), Canberra (156.7¢) and Hobart (160.9¢).
