The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose slightly by 0.2¢ to 152¢ a litre nationally in the week ending August 19, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 0.4¢ to 152¢ a litre, with the regional price unchanged at 152¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 165.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (160.8¢), WA (154.6¢), NSW/ACT (151.9¢), Queensland (150.7¢), and SA and Victoria (150.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 142.8¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (150¢), Melbourne (151.3¢), Brisbane (151.4¢), Perth (154¢), Darwin (155¢), Canberra (156.2¢) and Hobart (160.9¢).
