The average price of diesel fuel in Australia dipped slightly by 0.3¢ to 151.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending August 12, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 0.4¢ to 151.6¢ a litre, with the regional price showing a slight dip of 0.2¢ to 152¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 165.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (160.9¢), WA (154.7¢), NSW/ACT (151.8¢), Queensland (150.9¢), SA (150.2¢) and Victoria (149.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 143¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (149.6¢), Sydney (149.9¢), Brisbane (151.6¢), Perth (154.2¢), Darwin (155.4¢), Canberra (156.3¢) and Hobart (161¢).
