The average price of diesel fuel in Australia dipped slightly by 0.6¢ to 152.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending July 27, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 0.8¢ to 152.4¢ a litre, with the regional price showing a slight dip of 0.5¢ at 152.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 166.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (160.9¢), WA (155¢), NSW/ACT (152.1¢), Queensland (151.8¢), SA (150.6¢) and Victoria (150¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 143.9¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (150.1¢), Melbourne (150.6¢), Brisbane (152.9¢), Perth (154.7¢), Darwin (155.9¢), Canberra (156.7¢) and Hobart (161¢).
