The average price of diesel fuel in Australia dipped slightly by 0.5¢ to 153¢ a litre nationally in the week ending July 22, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 0.6¢ to 158.2¢ a litre, with the regional price showing a slight dip of 0.4¢ at 152.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 182.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (160.9¢), WA (156¢), NSW/ACT (153.2¢), Queensland and SA (151.2¢) and Victoria (150.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 144.6¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (150.9¢), Melbourne (151.6¢), Brisbane (153.6¢), Perth (155.4¢), Darwin (155.9¢), Canberra (157¢) and Hobart (161¢).
