The average price of diesel fuel in Australia dipped slightly by 0.2¢ to 153.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending July 15, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 0.4¢ to 158.8¢ a litre, with the regional price showing no change at 153.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 182.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (161.3¢), WA (156.2¢), NSW/ACT (153.3¢), QLD (151.5¢), Victoria and SA (151.3¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 145.2¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (151.1¢), Melbourne (152.7¢), Brisbane (154.3¢), Perth (155.7¢), Darwin (155.9¢), Canberra (157.1¢) and Hobart (161¢).
