The average price of diesel fuel in Australia dipped slightly by 0.4¢ to 153.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending July 8, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 0.6¢ to 154.2¢ a litre, with the regional price also falling 0.2¢ to 153.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 166.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (161.1¢), WA (156¢), Queensland (153.2¢), NSW/ACT (152.8¢), Victoria (152.5¢) and SA (151.3¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 145.6¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (151.2¢), Melbourne (153.5¢), Brisbane (154.9¢), Perth (155.9¢), Darwin (156¢), Canberra (157¢) and Hobart (161¢).
