The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.6¢ to 202.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 17 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.7¢ to 200.8¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.6¢ to 203.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 219.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (207.3¢), NSW/ACT (203.1¢), Queensland (202.9¢), Victoria (201.6¢), South Australia (199.2¢), and Western Australia (199.1¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 194.9¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (196.2¢), Darwin (199.5¢), Sydney (200.2¢), Melbourne (202.3¢), Brisbane (203¢), Hobart (206.5¢), and Canberra (208.5¢).
