The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 2.7¢ 182.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 15 September, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.9¢ to 180.8¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 2.4¢ to 184.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 204.9¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (184.1¢), Victoria (183.9¢), NSW/ACT (183¢), Tasmania (182.6¢), South Australia (178.8¢), and Western Australia (177¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 172.8¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (175.9¢), Darwin (178.7¢), Sydney (178.8¢), Hobart (181.5¢), Melbourne (183.5¢), Brisbane (184.3¢), and Canberra (193.3¢).
