Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 1.1¢ to 222.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 15 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.5¢ to 221.4¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.9¢ to 223.9¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 236.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (229.4¢), Victoria (223.2¢), Queensland (223.1¢), NSW/ACT (222.4¢), South Australia (220.7¢), and Western Australia (220.2¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 217.6¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (217.7¢), Sydney (219.9¢), Darwin (222.3¢), Melbourne (222.8¢), Brisbane (222.8¢), Canberra (228.3¢), and Hobart (228.8¢).
