The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 3.5¢ to 189.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 14 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 3.6¢ 187.4¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 3.5¢ to 191.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 222¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (195.7¢), Queensland (190.8¢), NSW/ACT (190.4¢), Victoria (189.3¢), South Australia (185.1¢), and Western Australia (184.2¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 177.9¢ a litre, followed by Perth (180¢), Sydney (186.2¢), Melbourne (188.3¢), Brisbane (189.6¢), Hobart (194.7¢), Canberra (196.9¢), and Darwin (207.9¢).
