The average price of diesel fuel in Australia stayed at 134.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 9 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price stayed at 133.2¢ a litre, while the regional price dropped by 0.1¢ to 135.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 147.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (140.5¢), South Australia (135.2¢), NSW/ACT (134.6¢), Western Australia (134.1¢), Victoria (134.0¢), and Queensland (133.7¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 131.6¢ a litre, followed by Perth (131.6¢), Darwin (132.1¢), Sydney (132.3¢), Melbourne (133.4¢), Brisbane (133.8¢), Canberra (138.9¢) and Hobart (141.4¢).
