The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 0.6¢ 178.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 13 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.9¢ to 176.5¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.3¢ to 179.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 201.3¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (180.8¢), Queensland (179.8¢), Tasmania (178.6¢), NSW/ACT (177.8¢), South Australia (174.6¢), and Western Australia (172.7¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 168.4¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (170¢), Sydney (174.3¢), Darwin (174.8¢), Hobart (178.1¢), Melbourne (179.7¢), Brisbane (179.9¢), and Canberra (187.2¢).
