The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 2.2¢ to 206.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 11 September, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.9¢ to 204.4¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 2.4¢ to 207.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 225.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (210.8¢), NSW/ACT (207.8¢), South Australia (206.6¢), Victoria (205.3¢), Queensland (205.2¢), and Western Australia (203.5¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 200.4¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (201.2¢), Melbourne (204.2¢), Brisbane (204.8¢), Sydney (205.6¢), Darwin (210.5¢), Canberra (211¢), and Hobart (212.4¢).
