The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose by 0.4¢ to 118.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 6 December, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.5¢ to 117.1¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 0.4¢ to 119.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 134.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (129.6¢), Victoria (118.7¢), NSW/ACT (118.3¢), Western Australia (118.3¢), South Australia (117.3¢) and Queensland (116.4¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 111.9¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (115.8¢), Darwin (115.9¢), Perth (116.2¢), Brisbane (116.8¢), Melbourne (117.7¢), Canberra (122.4¢) and Hobart (131.6¢).
