United opens ‘new-generation’ fuel station and NT’s first Pie Face

Construction of United Petroleum’s new multimillion-dollar service station in the Northern Territory town of Katherine has now been completed with the site officially opened this week (October 25) by Mayor Fay Miller.

The redevelopment includes the first Pie Face restaurant in the territory,  complementing a 24-hour QuikStop convenience store.

Facilities include a new refuelling canopy and pumps, with all grades of fuel at “ultra-competitive” prices. United is also promoting the site’s clean and comfortable amenities and bathroom facilities, “bringing customers’ food, rest and fuel needs into one place”.

United Petroleum National Marketing Manager Andrew English says the Pie Face restaurant, along with the newly redeveloped fuel site, “improves the economic and social amenity in Katherine by delivering a new-generation service station with a broad range of fuel, food and retail offerings to service the local community”.

“As the main food and fuel offer at the northern entrance to the town, the newly refurbished store … is ideally located to serve locals, tourists and the transport industry using the busy Stuart Highway,” he said. “The new Pie Face restaurant offers a delicious range of handcrafted, oven-fresh pies and pastries, which are baked fresh in-store daily along with artisan-roasted coffee.

“United is all about bringing better deals on fuel, food and convenience items and, in doing so, providing more choice and bigger savings for our customers.”

The new site is at 37 Katherine Terrace, Katherine.
