SodaStream shows support for Clean Up Australia Day

Over one-in-three Aussie households produced more packaging waste during 2020, in the Covid lockdowns.

This is despite one-in-two consumers reporting they’re more concerned about product packaging waste than they were in 2019.

Clean Up Australia Day Chairman Pip Kiernan hopes that 7 March (Clean Up Australia Day) acts as a reminder to Aussie households that there is a plethora of ways they can do their bit for the environment.

“Last year saw immense disruption to our lives, not least of all to our local environments which have been impacted by increased uptake of single-use, disposable items,” says Ms Kiernan.

“We know Australians everywhere are itching to get involved and now is their chance to officially register for Clean Up Australia Day 2021. Indeed, it’s never been more important to get involved and make a real difference.”

In the last 12 months, SodaStream has also:

  • Decreased their energy emissions by 30% by fitting energy-efficient lightning in its facilities.
  • Engaged in a new waste recycling process with the aim to recover 80% of waste resources by 2030.
  • Launched a project that saw over 2500 returned sparkling water makers 100% recycled, redirecting over 4 tonnes of plastic from landfill.
