Retailers acknowledged at Zarraffa’s Coffee National Franchisee Awards

The team from Zarraffa’s Coffee Cairns and Edmonton were crowned 2022 Franchisee of the Year at the specialty coffee company’s National Franchise Conference last week.

Held in the Whitsundays on Hamilton Island, Zarraffa’s recognised the top performers across the Australian-owned and operated franchise group and celebrated an incredible year.

Franchisee of the Year Zarraffa’s Coffee Cairns Showground and Edmonton – Jo and Paul Brierley.

Accepting the top gong were Jo and Paul Brierley, whose record of excellence was affirmed by their previous win of the CEO Encouragement Award back in 2019.

Zarraffa’s Coffee CEO Marnie Sheldon believes it is the Brierley’s clear passion and commitment to their local community and to their fellow franchisees that translates into such great results.

“It’s been an intense few years, riding the Covid waves, recruiting and keeping staff levels up, ensuring morale is maintained all while serving up millions of cups of coffee across our 70-plus stores, every single day.”

“Paul and Jo are the top of long list of deserving franchisees, who have given it ‘their all’ and come out the other side successfully.”

The Award recognises excellence in business and the Brierley’s beat a large number of stores and top franchisee operators, proving that coffee culture is alive and well in regional areas.

“It’s a great validation of the universal love of coffee and how it is an intrinsic part of our daily ritual, served up consistently for our customers, every single day,” Ms Sheldon said. “We are on a mission to become Australia’s favourite and with operators like Jo and Paul we are well on our way, one community at a time.”

The Awards night also recognised franchisees from WA, with Derrick Fu and Yinping Chen taking out the CEO Encouragement Award, while the Bankstown franchisees were awarded Rookie of the Year.

“Ash and Alisha from Bankstown have relocated their lives from Queensland to Sydney to pursue their dream of owning and running a store,” Ms Sheldon said.

“Ash has worked his way up through the ranks of the head office team, starting out in our Roastery and is now kicking goals and making a life of his own – it’s incredible to watch.”
