New premium on-the-go condiments from Birch & Waite

Takeaway food options have stepped up in the gourmet stakes as increasingly refined customer palettes redefine the foodservice and condiments segments.

Fine food producer Birch & Waite is releasing a new range of ‘on-the-go’ premium condiments this month to meet changing customer preferences for fancier condiments to go with their restaurant quality takeaway.

“Since 2016, Australia has reported a 43% increase in online food and delivery platforms with many more traditional restaurants, pivoting to takeaway in order to survive.”

The new range’s “perfectly” portioned sauces are made fresh from locally sourced Australian ingredients and will be available for chefs wanting to improve their takeaway offering with convenient, premium quality condiments.

“Australians are now used to having access to restaurant quality takeaway options. The rise of app-based delivery services, and Covid restrictions have really opened up the takeaway space for many venues and it’s actually changing the whole takeaway food landscape, particularly in urban areas,” says CEO Paul O’Brien.

“The days of sub-par takeaway food are numbered. We’ve seen demand for an on-the-go range up over 50% in the past year and we saw an opportunity to give chefs a high-quality range of condiments that complements their takeaway meals, not cheapens them.

Birch & Waite’s marketing and innovations team knew fresh ingredients for superior flavour and stability to stand up to the rigours of food transportation were the two things they needed the new range to deliver.

“Our professional chef and foodservice customers want tasty, fresh, top-quality ingredients and this new ‘on-the-go’ range has been carefully designed and batch crafted using the finest ingredients to enhance the flavour, texture and visual appeal of any dish,” Mr O’Brien said.

“Birch & Waite sauces are usually fresh chilled, but in this new range we’ve created five ambient sauces of exceptional taste and quality to suit almost any on-the-go meal occasion.”

The sauces are made from fresh, locally sourced Australian ingredients in the Birch & Waite kitchens in Marrickville, Sydney.

Each sauce was created by leading industry chefs using authentic recipes with “no added preservatives, colours or flavours, and are batch-crafted.”

Every sauce in the range is “shelf-stable, gluten-free, vegetarian and/or vegan,” and packaged in easy travel hygienic sealed containers.

The new range includes 25g single serve portions of: Gourmet tomato sauce, Tartare sauce, Smokey BBQ sauce, Creamy aioli sauce, and Sweet chilli sauce.
