New book shares insights into managing private labels

Offering one of the most comprehensive publications on retailer brands to date, Koen de Jong presented his new book, Managing Private Labels, on March 31 during the Private Label Show in Paris, the MDD Expo.

Managing Private Labels is the result of many years of work in the international private label industry and extensive research. The book shares practical knowledge and experience that aims to provide a deeper understanding of running a private label business in a competitive market.

Special attention is given to the discounter retail format and recommendations for mainstream retailers to counterbalance this phenomenon. Other topics covered in the book include improving supplier-retailer relations, how brand manufacturers can defend themselves, the role of packaging design, private label in emerging markets and the impact of new technology.
