Koko Black celebrates Lunar New Year

Koko Black is welcoming the Year of the Snake this Lunar New Year with a new range of chocolates.

To celebrate the Snake, Koko Black is bringing back it’s limited-edition Sichuan Pepper praline, available in all Lunar New Year gift boxes, and sold separately (RRP $3.20).

Back by “popular demand”, the chocolatier’s bespoke 48-piece light-up Lunar Lantern (RRP $159) will return to shelves. A “showstopping” display of light, the Lunar Lantern is a nine-layered gold foil tower that holds a variety of 48 pralines. Once the pralines are consumed, the package can be used as decor, projecting a glow, with the lantern containing a light in the top layer draw.

Koko Black’s custom eight-piece Lucky Lunar Praline box (RRP $29.90) and 25-piece Lunar Gift Box (RRP $81.90) are also returning to offer the “perfect” gift for loved ones. These “decadent” gift boxes feature seasonal flavours such as “luxurious” mandarin and yuzu, mango and vanilla, and “delightful” passionfruit.

“Lunar New Year is one of the biggest events enjoyed in Asian culture, commemorated by more than 20% of the world’s population,” says Koko Black. “The festivity involves 15-days dedicated to family reunion, marked by a New Year’s Eve dinner where gifts are exchanged to reminisce and conclude the year whilst optimistically welcoming a new one.”

Alongside all purchases for Lunar New Year products, a complimentary Red Envelope (Hóng Bāo) will be provided to Koko Black customers. Essential to the gifting tradition, the Hóng Bāo signifies good fortune for the year ahead.

“With a zodiac year expected to bring boundless luck and wisdom on the horizon, Koko Black is bringing pure chocolate bliss into the homes of countless Australians, using 100% natural ingredients in all of their hand-crafted products,” says the chocolatier.
