Media Release
Following the latest outbreaks around the country the organisers of Foodservice Australia have announced the event will be moving to February next year.
Event Director Tim Collett says “it was a tough decision when everyone wants to connect and the show was essentially ready to go. But the show is too important to run at less than full strength. By delaying to early next year we can ensure it will be the best ever.”
Foodservice Australia will now run from 27 February – 1 March 2022 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. All the exhibitors and special events will move to the new dates. These include the National Restaurant Conference, Aged Care Catering Summit, Café School, Sweet Spot, Chef of the Year and Bocuse d’or.
Collett says “tradeshows like these will be critical to reconnect buyers and sellers. By the end of the year lockdowns will be history and these events will be the place where people come together. You simply cannot replace the power of live events to create excitement and new business opportunities.”
The show normally alternates between Melbourne and Sydney. Collett confirmed the Sydney show would also be running next year but had been pushed back to 23-25 October to help spread out these major events for exhibitors.
He said “two shows in a year is unusual but will offer suppliers the opportunity to see all their customers from around Australia. There is huge pent-up demand for new ideas and most visitors come from the city where the show runs. By running in Melbourne In February and Sydney in October we are giving buyers the best opportunity to attend.”
Visitor registration is now open. Entry is free but you must be over 16 and work in a food or hospitality business. Existing registrations will rollover to the new dates. For more information on visiting or exhibiting call the food team on 03 9999 5460 or visit www.foodserviceaustralia.com.au
