Costco has opened its Westgate warehouse in Auckland, New Zealand on 28 September with New Zealand Managing Director Patrick Noone at the official opening. Costco Westgate is the first New Zealand location, bringing the total number to 829 worldwide.
Costco Westgate offers high quality products at competitive prices across a wide range of categories like apparel, appliances, automotive, bakery, books and media, deli and catering, domestics and homewares, electronics and white goods, garden, groceries, designer handbags and luggage, health and beauty, jewellery and watches, fresh meat and seafood, office, produce, seasonal decorations, snacks and confectionery, sporting goods, sundries, toys and tickets.
The warehouse includes a tyre centre, optical centre, hearing aid centre, pharmacy and food court, with approximately 14,000sqm of floor area and over 800 car parking spaces.
Costco Westgate also features a fuel station. Members need a Costco membership card to shop and to purchase fuel at its self-serve stations. ULP91, Premium 95 and Diesel at 24 filling positions and two ultra-high flow pumps are available at the forecourt.
There was plenty of excitement around the food court with a hot dog and refillable soda deal for $1.99 on opening day. The taro boba tea also garnered interest from members, while the rotisserie chickens were also said to be flying out the door at a rapid rate. Customers were also observed taking photos by the giant teddies and Halloween decor.
