As the waters rise again in Queensland and NSW, and individuals and businesses face clean up and recovery for a second time in a month, Chevron has continued its long running community support with much needed flood relief.
Chevron Australia, which operates the Puma Energy service station network, have jointly announced an AU$1 million donation to Australian Red Cross in support of its Queensland and NSW floods relief and recovery efforts in eastern Australia.
The donation will help Australian Red Cross provide humanitarian support to people and communities in Queensland and NSW affected by the 2022 floods.
Chevron Australia Managing Director Mark Hatfield said the impact to lives, homes and livelihoods was of concern to everyone in Australia.
“Our thoughts are with the affected families and emergency personnel assisting in the recovery effort, who have shown incredible resilience throughout these devastating events,” Mr Hatfield said.
Chevron Australia Downstream General Manager Anna Vargas said the severe weather events directly impacted many employees within the Puma service station network, operated by Chevron.
“Like so many others in the community, our employees and their families were directly impacted by these floods,” Ms Vargas said.
“They have shown great courage and team spirit, enabling us to continue to support the community and emergency response and clean-up efforts across south-east Queensland and New South Wales.”
