Brownes Dairy releases new flavoured milk range with less sugar

Brownes Dairy has launched a new range of flavoured milks, focusing on the goodness of dairy with fresh full cream milk, natural flavours and no added sugar. With just the natural sugar in milk and no artificial colours or preservatives.

“We feel confident that it’s the perfect dairy snack which not only tastes delicious but kids will love, and an easy yes for parents knowing it’s nutritious and healthy with the natural benefits of dairy,” says Brownes Dairy GM Marketing Rebecca Smith.

The Natural Flavoured Milk range will initially be available in vanilla and chocolate flavours in both a 250ml bottle for on-the-go and a 1 litre carton for at-home.

“Flavoured milk is notoriously battling the sugar perception, and there is a big gap for healthier alternatives, especially in the family market,” Ms Smith said.

Brownes is Australia’s oldest dairy, and it was the first to launch flavoured milk in Western Australia in 1951. Since then, the company has been leading innovation across product, packaging, and sustainability.

The new range of natural flavoured milks have been packed into fully renewable 1L craft cartons which are made from plant-based materials, resulting in lighter weight cartons that are “100% kerbside recyclable.”

“As people’s tastes and expectations change, we need to evolve and have solutions to the barriers for entering the category. We know health and sugar are rising concerns and this range will help educate on the goodness of natural dairy, allowing people to enjoy the great taste of flavoured milk without the guilt,” Ms Smith said.

Brownes Dairy was recently awarded Best Sustainability/CSR Initiative by the World Dairy Innovation Awards in 2022. It was also named one of Australia’s most innovative companies by the Australian Financial Review in 2020.
