ACAPMA releases Family and Domestic Violence Leave resources to members

The ACAPMA Employment and Training Department has released a new set of resources to provide guidance, clarity and communication around the new paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave entitlement that is now available to all staff.

As outlined in ACAPMAg in the past: https://acapmag.com.au/2023/01/new-entitlement-paid-domestic-violence-leave-from-1-feb-2023/, the entitlement to paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave is a unique one, with very particular record keeping requirements and a staggered start (applies for Small Businesses from 1 August 2023 but for all other businesses now).

ACAPMA’s team of Employment and Training professionals have put together a series of resources to assist members in not only understanding these changes but ensuring that they are communicating clearly to their staff and have access to appropriate record keeping templates.

“This is a completely new entitlement, so ACAPMA was always going to put together guidance for members”, explains ACAPMA’s Elisha Radwanowski.

“In this particular instance however, the entitlement is not just new, it is really unique in its record keeping and communication requirements, and it is literally about saving people’s lives, so we have expanded the resources for members to include posters for staff and template record keeping documents like applications and acknowledgements, in addition to the guidance”, continued Elisha.

“Members do not have to use the templates provided, they can utilise their own, but they do provide a starting point for consideration”. concludes Elisha.
