The average price of diesel fuel in Australia dipped slightly by 0.3¢ to 152.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending August 5, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 0.4¢ to 152¢ a litre, with the regional price showing a slight dip of 0.2¢ at 152¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 166.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (160.9¢), WA (154.8¢), NSW/ACT (151.9¢), Queensland (151.4¢), SA (150.2¢) and Victoria (149.5¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 143.7¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (149.9¢), Melbourne (150¢), Brisbane (152.3¢), Perth (154.4¢), Darwin (155.9¢), Canberra (156.1¢) and Hobart (160.9¢).
