The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia decreased 2.8¢ to 106.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending February 28, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price decreased 3.4¢ to 103.7¢ a litre, with the regional price decreasing 1.7¢ a litre to 112¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 121.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (119.9¢), WA (111¢), SA (108.6¢), NSW/ACT (108¢), Queensland (103.8¢), and Victoria (102.2¢).
Of the major cities, Brisbane offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 98.7¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (100.3¢), Sydney (105.4¢), Adelaide (107¢), Perth (107.8¢), Canberra (117.9¢), Hobart (119.3¢), and Darwin (119.4¢).
