Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 0.4¢ 179.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 17 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.4¢ to 177.5¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.4¢ to 181¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 199.5¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (180.5¢), Tasmania (180.2¢), Queensland (180.1¢), NSW/ACT (179.6¢), South Australia (177.5¢), and Western Australia (174.8¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 171¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (173.4¢), Adelaide (175.9¢), Sydney (177¢), Melbourne (179.2¢), Brisbane (180¢), Hobart (180.4¢), and Canberra (187.4¢).
