Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 0.6¢ 195.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 14 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.6¢ to 193.9¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.7¢ to 196.1¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 212.3¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (196.6¢), Tasmania (196.2¢), Victoria (195.8¢), NSW/ACT (195.5¢), South Australia (192.6¢), and Western Australia (189.8¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 186.3¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (188.4¢), Adelaide (189.5¢), Sydney (193¢), Melbourne (195.6¢), Hobart (195.7¢), Brisbane (197.7¢), and Canberra (205.7¢).
