The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 4.2¢ to 186¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 7 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 6¢ to 184.7¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.8¢ to 188.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 200.2¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (193.1¢), Queensland (190.4¢), Western Australia (186.3¢), Victoria (185.5¢), NSW/ACT (185.5¢), and South Australia (174.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 169.7¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (182.9¢), Darwin (184.7¢), Melbourne (185.2¢), Perth (185.5¢), Brisbane (190.5¢), Hobart (192.4¢), and Canberra (197¢).
