The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 1.1¢ to 219.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 5 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.1¢ to 218.4¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.1¢ to 220.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 235.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (226.1¢), Victoria (220.3¢), Queensland (220.2¢), NSW/ACT (219.6¢), South Australia (217.4¢), and Western Australia (216.5¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 213.2¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (214.2¢), Sydney (217.3¢), Melbourne (219.8¢), Brisbane (220.2¢), Darwin (220.2¢), Hobart (224.3¢), and Canberra (224.7¢).
