The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 3.7¢ to 198.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 5 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 6¢ to 198.2¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.8¢ to 199.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 215.3¢ a litre, followed by South Australia (209¢), NSW/ACT (205.2¢), Tasmania (200.8¢), Western Australia (196.9¢), Victoria (192.3¢), and Queensland (191.5¢).
Of the major cities, Brisbane offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 188.3¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (190.9¢), Perth (195¢), Hobart (196.4¢), Darwin (203.4¢), Canberra (207.9¢), Sydney (209¢), and Adelaide (213.5¢).
