The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.1¢ to 223.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 8 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.1¢ to 222.9¢ a litre, while the regional price remained at 224.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 236.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (230.1¢), Victoria (224.5¢), Queensland (224.1¢), NSW/ACT (223.5¢), Western Australia (222.1¢), and South Australia (221¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 218.6¢ a litre, followed by Perth (219.9¢), Sydney (221.3¢), Darwin (222.4¢), Brisbane (223.9¢), Melbourne (224.3¢), Canberra (229.4¢), and Hobart (229.9¢).
