Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.4¢ 182.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 9 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.2¢ to 179.8¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.4¢ to 184.1¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 212.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (185.5¢), NSW/ACT (183¢), Queensland (182.4¢), Victoria (181.8¢), South Australia (179.1¢), and Western Australia (177.8¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 171.6¢ a litre, followed by Perth (173.4¢), Sydney (178.8¢), Melbourne (179.6¢), Brisbane (182.2¢), Hobart (183.8¢), Canberra (192.2¢), and Darwin (198.8¢).
