Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 3.2¢ to 186.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 21 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 3.2¢ 184.2¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 3.2¢ to 188.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 219.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (188¢), Queensland (187.9¢), NSW/ACT (186.8¢), Victoria (186.5¢), South Australia (183.2¢), and Western Australia (180.8¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 176.1¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (176.8¢), Sydney (182.5¢), Melbourne (185.2¢), Brisbane (187.2¢), Hobart (188.7¢), Canberra (193.6¢), and Darwin (204.8¢).
