The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.2¢ to 196.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 9 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price remained at 194.2¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.2¢ to 198.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 224¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (205¢), NSW/ACT (197.3¢), Queensland (196.9¢), Victoria (196.7¢), South Australia (193.5¢), and Western Australia (190.2¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 186.3¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (187.8¢), Sydney (194¢), Melbourne (195.2¢), Brisbane (196¢), Canberra (202.3¢), Hobart (205.5¢), and Darwin (209¢).
