The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia remained at 205.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 5 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.2¢ to 202.9¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.2¢ to 207.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 231.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (212.9¢), Queensland (207.1¢), Victoria (205.7¢), NSW/ACT (205.3¢), South Australia (202.1¢), and Western Australia (198.9¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 194.2¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (196.7¢), Sydney (201.3¢), Melbourne (204.2¢), Brisbane (206.5¢), Hobart (210.7¢), Canberra (212¢), and Darwin (216.9¢).
