Ampol Woolworths MetroGo has opened its 50th store, located in South Melbourne.
Since first launching in North Ryde, NSW in 2019, Ampol Woolworths MetroGo has combined Ampol’s “great service” and “world-class” quality fuels with Woolworths’ fresh food and top-up essentials.
The South Melbourne store’s opening coincides with another new milestone, being the first Ampol Woolworths MetroGo to feature an in-store Sushi Izu. The South Melbourne store will additionally play host to an in-store Boost Juice.
Sushi Izu, a long-standing partner of Woolworths, is Australia’s “premier” sushi retailer and ready-to-eat meal destinations. The new concept store offers sushi that is made onsite, catering for those on the go with plenty of rolls and packed tray options.
Ampol Executive General Manager Retail Australia Kate Thomson says the opening of Ampol Woolworths MetroGo South Melbourne is yet another key milestone for Ampol’s retail business.
“Since its inception, the Ampol Woolworths MetroGo format has delivered a new standard and an exciting proposition for our on-the-go customers, and we look forward to welcoming customers to our new South Melbourne MetroGo store,” she says.
Woolworths General Manager MetroGo Partnerships Michelle White says MetroGo is dedicated to providing ultra-convenience to our customers.
“To date, our partnership with Ampol has helped millions of Australians top up their tanks and easily access last minute ingredients for dinner, healthy snacks, and fresh food,” she says.

Ampol Woolworths MetroGo South Melbourne will be open 24 hours for fuel and shop needs, seven days per week. Sushi Izu is made daily between 8am-6pm and available 24/7 to purchase, while Boost Juice will be open 7am-7pm over the coming summer months.
